This is a relatively new addition to Stone Town situated in the Kiponda region; close to the port, the House of Wonders and Mercury’s (a good place to watch the sun go down). It is a small boutique hotel with excellent rooms. Especially the Suites which are beautiful…one has a rooftop bathroom and sundeck! They offer a highly personalized service and will help you with all aspects of your stay (organising tours etc.)

There is a lovely homely feel to this place as it is run by a Belgium couple Sebastiaan and Marion who have developed the establishment with all mod cons (board games, plasma TV, dvd vault) while still ensuring it retains all the charm of a traditional Stone Town accommodation.

The Zanzibar Palace prides itself on its attention to detail and as such the finish of the hotel, the service and the food is all excellent.

This is a great hotel. The Zanzibar Palace inspired by other Arabian like hotels in Stone Town such as 236 Hurumzi (once known as the Emerson & Green) has really taken the finish of the hotel to the next level, there is just the right mix of modern facilities and contemporary design with Zanzibari/Arabian style. The hotel has quickly become one of our favourites Stone Town and would be a welcome addition to any itinerary!
