Migration Camp is a luxury, permanent, tented camp in the thin strip of the Serengeti to the east of the Lobo hills and offers a beautiful setting to witness the Migration Herd in July and November as it meanders north and south.

This luxury camp is hidden amongst the rocky outcrops or kopjes in Northern Serengeti, exuding decadence reminiscent of Old Africa. Just a short drive from Lobo Airstrip, this camp is quite often included as part of a luxury flying circuit in Northern Tanzania.

The reception is charmingly incorporated into the main lounge area, with comfortable leather couches and tastefully decorated to blend in with the surroundings, facing the swimming pool and the tents below

Twenty lavish and spacious tents on wooden decks with either king or twin beds, comfortable leather armchairs, coffee and writing tables. The tents are en-suite with showers and double vanities, surrounded by a verandah with rocking chairs.

The lodge itself is excellently placed in the corridor of the Serengeti that joins the central, Seronera region with the northern plains of Kenya and the Lamai Wedge in Tanzania. For this reason, the camp has very good local populations of cats such as leopard and lion on its doorstep.

Migration Camp – Our view

This is probably one of our favourite camps in the Serengeti! Set away from the large populations of tourists that flock to Lobo and the Seronera, the camp really benefits from a great position. The tents themselves are as spacious and luxurious as you would expect from a camp of its calibre with comfortable armchairs and a great little pool and sundeck to relax on when not out on safari. Once a pretender, but now a very real alternative to Klein’s Camp just further North, it is perfect for a family or couple looking to get the best!
